Eve of the Vigilant Citizen

It’s the most lavish party of the 1920s. Music, drinks, dancing—anyone who's anyone in the city is there—but something sinister is lurking just below the surface. A mysterious secret organization has conspired to select each guest and bring them to the party. Schmooze, chat and make connections to find out why you were selected. As the night proceeds your questions will be answered.

Frequently asked questions

What is Truesight Collective?

Truesight Collective produces site-specific participatory immersive experiences. That means you’ll attend as a participant, not a passive audience member. We’ll give you a simple outline of a character to inhabit as you get involved in the fiction. It’s up to you to fill in the gaps and bring your character to life.

What is Immersive Theatre?

Immersive theatre is a style of performance that focuses on the use and importance of space; creating environments for a personal, individual audience experience. Rather than being a passive spectator audience members are a part of the story. No matter how small or large the part may be, they are built into the action. They are encouraged to roam and explore while the performance unfolds around them.

Performances do not take place in a theatre but rather in unusual, non-traditional spaces. Immersive theatre creators lay the framework for audience discovery where each individual journey is different.

Do I need to dress up?

You’re encouraged to try on a new pair of shoes. Even if you don’t dress to the nines, a little goes a long way in bringing the world to life.

Will I be given a character to play?

You may be given a name and brief history of a persona to inhabit during the experience. You are encouraged to wear this name as if it were yours. How deeply you inhabit the character is up to you.

What if I am assigned a character that isn't my gender?

All roles in Truesight productions are written to be non gender specific. Characters given to participants are never explicitly gendered.

What if I don’t like my character?

Get in touch with us and we’ll get you a new persona, but we encourage you to take your character and make it your own.

I was given something when I attended a Truesight event.

Keep it. Hold it close. Display it next time you attend. It will be worth your while.

Are you hiring?

Not at this time, but please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in working in immersive theatre.
